VA Corporation raises strategic investment pre-series A round

VA Corporation announced that it has secured SI Pre-Series A investment to strengthen its partnerships with Pearl Abyss, NHN, Com2us, JTBC Studio, and LG Electronics.

VA Corporation is a metaverse platform that supports virtual production from planning to production of various immersive contents such as movies, dramas, advertisements, real-time performances, and games in one stop, and supports various content production by cloudifying all IP assets on the platform. It has a full value chain for Metaverse content production, including △ Asia's largest LED wall-based virtual studio, △ virtual production technology and know-how utilizing Korea's top-notch VFX (visual special effects), and △ a library of original content IP (intellectual property).

With this investment, VA Corporation will further strengthen its virtual production infrastructure and metaverse content production pipeline to respond to the explosive growth of the metaverse industry. By 2022, the company plans to expand its virtual studio infrastructure to 29,000 square meters in the Gyeonggi region and invest in research and development (R&D) to advance its immersive content creation technology. In addition, it will significantly expand its IP content library with the goal of securing 20,000 IP assets by 2023 and accelerate its one-stop metaverse platform business.

VA Corporation plans to collaborate with Pearl Abyss to jointly build an IP asset library, and will strengthen support for Metaverse content creation through ongoing technical collaboration with NHN to develop IP asset cloud storage. With Com2us, we will strengthen IP competitiveness through mutual technical cooperation to create various mobile-based metaverse contents for game and video IPs. With JTBC Studio, we will apply virtual production technology to the production of broadcast content such as dramas and entertainment to plan and produce quality content and expand our IP library. In addition, the company plans to collaborate with LG Electronics to jointly develop LED walls, the core hardware that connects the metaverse to reality.

Meanwhile, VA Corporation will take another step toward its goal of becoming a global metaverse platform company through a Series A investment round scheduled for the end of this year.
