VA Corporation launched an asset library platform, ‘V STAGE,’ providing a virtual scouting service on its website, claiming it to be the first case over the world.
VA Corporation, a virtual production company in South Korea, launched the beta version of V STAGE on Nov 22. V STAGE is an asset library platform that includes 2D·3D virtual environments and digital props with the aim to improving efficiency in content production, especially virtual production(VP).
VA Corporation has amassed digital assets optimized for VP and developed a virtual scouting service available on its website. It is expected that this will expand the VP market and allow more creators and producers to use VP. VA Corporation plans to continue expanding its service on the platform.
It has totally 20,000 assets including 2,600 of 3D environmental assets, and it will acquire more virtual environmental assets. VA Corporation keeps developing various assets and services required by the media trend and markets. Also, it is currently opened to some clients and business partners but expand the service to general customers.
VA Corporation has digitized virtual assets that are highly usable in content production, including ▲indoor spaces that are generally difficult to access and shoot, such as airports and subways, ▲backgrounds that can be used as an alternative to shooting at overseas locations such as the Sahara Desert and Iceland's tracking road, and ▲unrealistic spaces such as outer space and future cities. In particular, VA Corporation focused on acquiring a Korean location and traditional prop database.
In addition, VA Corporation plans to make available body data that is convenient for producing 3D characters, including virtual humans, as well as motion data for various movements, through V STAGE.
VA Corporation will provide a web-based virtual scouting service for VP through V STAGE, which will allow users to visualize shooting locations and sets in a virtual environment. With 360° cameras, users can easily check the shooting composition and scenes, and the platform even allows users to set camera lens values, enabling them to conveniently check the production environment without visiting the studio, improving production efficiency and completion.
VA Corporation plans to commercialize it as a global representative VP platform. In the future, it plans to add some functions such as an open market platform, community, AI search and suggestion for general users to easily utilize the platform.
"We will continue to secure various assets and develop V STAGE through continuous R&D. We also plan to expand the platform to cover not only the VP business but also the further virtual world, through the acquisition and distribution of various IPs and the diversification of content businesses and the creation of new revenue models." VA Corporation said.
