VA Corporation Explores Global Business Expansion and Production Technology Collaboration with British Columbia, Canada

VA Corporation held a meeting to discuss content business exchange and production technology collaboration with the British Columbia (BC) province in Canada.

VA Corporation announced on the 2nd that a delegation from BC, including Brenda Bailey, Minister of Jobs, Economic Development, and Innovation, and Jagrup Brar, visited VA Studio Hanam for discussions on business exchange and technology collaboration for global content production.

The BC delegation met with executives from VA Corporation and its subsidiary, VA Studio, toured the virtual studio, and discussed partnership initiatives for business exchange with BC-based companies and support measures for technology collaboration. As a result, VA Corporation aims to secure overseas projects related to virtual production and VFX, intensify its overseas expansion through technical exchanges with North American companies.

VA Corporation swiftly recognized the growing demand for Korean content and, in response, established an overwhelming scale of the largest virtual studio in Asia, equipped with facilities and equipment optimized for content production. They have also elevated their content production technology and expertise.

In addition to infrastructure and technology, various points of collaboration were discussed regarding asset libraries that can be efficiently used both domestically and internationally. V STAGE is an asset library platform where VA Corporation has pooled the intellectual property of 2D and 3D virtual environments and digital props to enhance the utility and efficiency of virtual production.

British Columbia, Canada, is home to Canada's largest and North America's third-largest full-service film hub, leading the global creative economy with digital media, film, TV, visual effects, animation, and post-production companies. It provides a creative cluster comprising world-class film, TV, visual effects, animation, and post-production companies, offering a strong foundation for the film and TV, VFX, animation, video game, and interactive media industries. As a result, some technologies are showing the highest growth rates in North America.

In the fields of film and TV, VFX, and animation, British Columbia, Canada, hosts a variety of companies, including Walt Disney Animation Studios, Sony Pictures Imageworks, and Industrial Light & Magic. In the gaming sector, companies like Electronic Arts, Microsoft, and Relic Entertainment (Sega) are prominent players. Additionally, various AI companies such as Cisco, Fujitsu, and Avigilon, as well as a range of AR and VR companies, are part of British Columbia's cluster.

Brenda Bailey, Minister of Jobs, Economic Development, and Innovation for British Columbia, emphasized the province's status as a leader in the VFX sector and one of North America's largest film hubs. She acknowledged the importance of top-notch creative talent and production value. Brenda Bailey also recognized VA Corporation's leadership in South Korea, offering innovative resources like V Stage, and expressed the hope for exploring collaboration opportunities to support the international growth of Korean content.
